About Us

From Sean:

My name is Sean. I am a fairly typical Southern guy: I drive a white pickup, have 2 Golden Retrievers, and married my high school sweetheart.

My motivations for doing yoga are mostly paraphrased by Lululemon, "it feels damn good." Initially I started doing yoga because I would realistically go to those classes regularly instead of lifting or running, which I would only intermittently pursue. Now, however, it has begun to change the way I think and how I respond to situations. Am I a vegetarian? No, but I'm more mindful of what I'm putting in my body. Before I had even taken my first yoga class, I decided I would give up beef for 2012, so it's not like there's a marked change in what I eat. But, I am going more and more days a week without any meat.

My view of yoga is like Norman Allen in Enlighten Up, when Nick asks him what we're doing here, " I don't know, man." I can feel that yoga is a powerful tool, but I'm not sure what it's full potential is for me, yet.

From Danielle:

Hi, I'm Danielle. I'm a yogaholic.

Overused, I know, but for me, it's true. I've tried several different types of yoga (and plan to try many more). While not all of them are as suited to my personality, I have respect for each of them. I prefer fast paced classes with as few balance poses as possible (I am always the worst in the class at balance poses). Practicing yoga helps me to clear the clutter from my mind and focus on what is really important to me - God, love, friends, family, and my two goofy golden retrievers. I married my best friend and high school sweetheart in 2009, my co-blogger, Sean. We live an active, but quiet life with Casey and Remington (the aforementioned goofy goldens).

For me, yoga has morphed from something I did solo in the comfort of my living room (occasionally the dogs would join in) to a true family activity.
